STRANGE SEPTEMBER AFTERNOONS

When long Summer‘s days are gone,

Leaves are fallen, school‘s going to start

You suddenly feel you could do anything

Not to be alone…

It was raining,

It was pouring,

And the sidewalks

Looked like oceans.

You thought:

“We are walking

On the water,

But when the storm is over

Will you,

Will I remember

This cold afternoon in September?

The Moon is high up in the sky

And I don’t want to lie

When you ask me

Are you crying?

Or is that just a raindrop

Falling down your cheek?

Normally, I’d just shrug

And whisper “whatever”

But this time,

This time I won’t,

For I can’t…
