In November of 2008, band member Drew Wolber underwent a difficult, romantic break-up. Motivated by this tragic loss, Wolber composed his final love letter — the result was Rome Juliana.
At its core, Rome Juliana is about a girl. But even more it explores a story of love, loss, and companionship. The band’s tale is told through five storytellers longing for someone to LIVE their story with.
Rome Juliana is not just a group that shyly dictates what they’re about and why they’re doing it, but rather, you get Rome Juliana’s vulnerability gift wrapped in a bold and calculated recklessness. In essence, you get to know THEM. They’d much rather you be their friend, not just their fan.
Hailing from Winston-Salem, NC, Rome Juliana trancends the stale and cliché top 40 genre. Fusing pop sensibilities with a classical edge, the band has been gaining momentum locally and abroad with their recently released self-titled album. Without surrendering themselves to the industry’s hit-making machine, Rome Juliana meets the top 40 crew on the other side with just as much talent and appeal, but with a kind of honesty that would terrify most, which will ultimately be the thing that wins you over.
